Jackson has continued to be an iconic figure in pop culture in the years since his passing. His collection of work is respected, and people of all ages continue to love his songs and dance style.
Michael Jackson was the eighth of the Jackson family’s 10 children, and he was born on August 29, 1958.
At the age of 11, he joined his father’s boy band, The Jackson 5, as the lead singer, and that was when he first became famous.
The Jackson 5 also included Michael’s siblings Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. Michael was the youngest member of the group.
Despite his shyness, Jackson took the front man role in the band, as he was a natural singer and dancer.
Between 1969 and 1975, The Jackson 5 recorded 13 albums with Motown Records, including singles like “ABC” and “I Want You Back.”
Michael soon began making records independently of the band. Off the Wall, his first solo album for Epic, sold more than 20 million copies and was the best-selling record of 1979.
‘Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough’ and ‘Rock with You’ were among the album’s top hits.
Michael’s first Grammy triumph came in 1980 for the Best R&B Male Vocal Performance.
