Earlier today, some of us woke up to the sad news of yet another star that has gone to the great beyond.
Here, we list some Nollywood actors that we have lost in 2021.
Folake Aremu a.k.a Orisabunmi

Popular Yoruba actress, Mrs. Folake Aremu popularly called Orisabunmi, died on January 5, 2021.
The veteran actress, who hailed from Olla in Kwara State, died at 60 in her residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.
She was said to have died after a brief illness.
Orisabunmi died four months after ex-husband Jimoh Aliu, better known as Aworo, died.
Jim Lawson Maduike

Nollywood actor, radio broadcaster, and writer, Jim Lawson Maduike died on January 9, 2021.
The Imo-born thespian complained of severe body pains, slept and didn’t wake up the following morning.
He joined the Nollywood movie industry in 2004 and has since acted in more than 150 movies.

The talented actor was reportedly suffering from an undisclosed ailment, and he already took a break from social media for weeks before his demise.
Dan Nkoloagu

Nollywood veteran actor Dan Nkoloagu died on January 22, 2021.
Nkoloagu, who died at 83, was popular for playing the role of a native doctor in many Igbo movies.
His son, Dan Nkoloagu Jnr, announced his death on his Facebook page.
“IT WAS A BLACK FRIDAY FOR US YESTERDAY as my Dad left us without saying goodbye,” he wrote.
Ernest Asuzu

Nollywood actor Ernest Asuzu reportedly slumped and died on evening of Tuesday January 26, 2021
He was aged 37.
His wife, Jennifer Asuzu, confirmed the news. The actor came down with a stroke in 2015 which affected his speech. He was also bedridden for three years.
Ernest Asuzu began his acting career in the ’90s and rose to prominence after he starred in the 1997 Nollywood classic, ‘Rituals’
Sadiq Daba

Rachel Bakam

Rachel Bakam died on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, after a brief illness. She was 38 years old.
Bakam died at a private hospital in Abuja. Her brother, Armstrong Bakam, revealed that Rachel died at noon with her mother by her bedside.
Rachel Bakam was also a writer, TV presenter, producer and an anti-human trafficking ambassador.
Sound Sultan

Veteran actress Rachel Oniga reportedly died on Friday, July 30, 2021 from a heart-related issue at the age of 64.
Over the years, she has featured in notable Nigerian films such as Sango, a movie scripted by Wale Ogunyemi, produced and directed by Obafemi Lasode and Wale Adenuga’s television series, Super story among others.
