Obi Cubana is a name that is currently on everyone’s lips for some rather fascinating reasons.He is trending on account of the inordinate number of cows he has received as gifts for his mother’s funeral ceremony.

As at the last count, the socialite had received about 247 cows from his friends and associate. One of his protégés, Cubana Chief Priest, arrived the venue of the ceremony with a trailer loaded with 46 cows.

In addition, a purported list of cash donations is making the rounds on social media. It is said to be cash contributions from Obi Cubana’s friends and associates. The total sum of the amount on the list is in the neigbhourhood of N250 million!

Viral videos of ostentatious display of wealth by his guests at Oba, Anambra state, is currently circulating.

All these put together is setting the social media space agog.

Suddenly, a hitherto “unknown billionaire” has suddenly gained national attention.

Obi Iyiegbu better known as Obi Cubana is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a showbiz impresario.

The 46-year-old Obi Cubana hails from Oba, a community in Demili-South Local Government Area in Anambra State, Nigeria.

The Political Science graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, is the Chairman of the Cubana Group. The conglomerate is predominantly made of a number of hospitality brands.

His investments include upscale night clubs, restaurants and lifestyle galleria.

The Cubana conglomerate also include some hotels; Rolex Hotels, Lagos and Grand Cubana Hotels, Abuja.

Obi Cubana debuted in the entertainment industry in 2006. This was the year he opened his first club in Abuja, Ibiza Club. It was designed to try to satisfy the desires of fun seekers and nightcrawlers.

Following his incredible success with Ibiza Club, he went on to establish the Cubana group, a hospitality business that provides all-around entertainment, in 2009.

The Cubana nightclubs are popular entertainment hotspots for young wealthy people and celebrities.

The Cubana group was founded in Owerri, Nigeria’s capital of Imo state.

Cubana Nights Clubs is now present in Lagos, Abuja, Owerri, and Enugu.

Obi Cubana has received numerous awards and accolades across the country. They include, but are not limited to: Democracy Heroes Award 2018 as Democracy Entrepreneur of the year, The RightVille School special leadership Award (2017), Ghana-Nigeria Achievers Award 2017 as Inspiring Personality Award (2017), Northern Nigeria Peace Summit Award (2017), Northern Nigeria Peace Builder of the year (2017), Nigeria Film Corporation Entertainment as Icon Award (2017), Young Entrepreneur of the year 2016, etc

Obi Cubana is married to Ebele Iyiegbu, a lawyer. They got married in 2008. Together, they have four sons.

His wife is the founder of the KIEK foundation, an NGO that helps underprivileged children.
