Obiano’s Wife And Her 2 Famous Squabbles With Other Women
Yesterday, videos surfaced showing the brawl between Bianca Ojukwu and Ebelechukwu Obiano, the wife of former Anambra governor, Willie Obiano.
The disgraceful physical exchange took place at Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s inauguration ceremony as governor of the state at the government house in Anambra.
Dignitaries, including Obiano, were already seated when the altercation occurred.
Mrs Ebere Jennifer Ukamaka Obiano, the wife of the immediate past governor of Anambra state is not a stranger to bringing odium to Anambra State Government and its citizens with open dispute with other women.
Here, we highlight two famous cases where she had altercations with other women.
Vs. Mrs. Oby Okeke
Mrs. Ebele Obiano once had a well-publicized showdown with the wife of her husband’s deputy governor, Mrs. Oby Okeke.
The trouble began on November 16, 2014, during the dedication of the child of the Anglican Bishop of Awka, His Lordship Most Rev Ibezim, at the cathedral of St. Faith in Awka.
The deputy governor’s wife complained to Mrs. Beatrice Ekwueme (Alex Ekwueme’s Wife), as a mother to all about how Ebere Obiano does not support her in anything she does.
At that moment, Mrs. Obiano sneered and declared that the constitution recognized her and not the Deputy governor’s wife.
She was reported to have physically lashed out at her Deputy after she shouted back. It took the involvement of security personnel to keep the two from fighting physically.
During the exchange, the Deputy Governor’s wife told her that she couldn’t murder her like she killed her maid, and she couldn’t slap her like she typically hits drivers.”
A thoroughly disappointed APGA chieftain, Sir Victor Umeh, took the deputy governor who was present away while the exchange of nasty words continued between the women.
In 2021, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Nkem Okeke, dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
He said he left because he was unjustly treated by his principal.
Vs. Uche Ekwunife
There was no love lost between Mrs. Obiano and Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, a member of the state’s House of Representatives. This was no secret in the Anambra political circle.
Hon. Uche Ekwunife, the member representing Anaocha, Dunukofia, and Njikoka Federal Constituency of Anambra State, would have been attacked by Mrs Ebele Obiano, in faraway Poland but for the intervention of the then First Lady, Dr. Patience Goodluck. Both women were part of the First Lady’s delegation visiting Poland.
When the First Lady arrived at the airport, she was escorted by Uche Ekwunife, Bola Shagaya, and others.
Ebele Obiano, who was among those waiting to see the First Lady, greeted everyone except Uche Ekwunife, , according to a source close to the First Lady.
Those who had noticed the trend inquired why she was acting so childishly, and she said, “I do not greet prostitute,” much to the surprise of all those there.
According to our source, Uche Ekwunife did not speak until Ebele Obiano told her that she would deal with her and see that all of her enterprises in Awka crumbled.
Ekwunife, enraged, declared, “I will not exchange words with you.”
“Just because you killed your husband’s first wife to get him to marry you doesn’t mean you can’t deal with other women [Ebere Obiano used to be Obiano’s secretary until he lost her and married her]; just because you’re dealing with your alcoholic husband doesn’t mean you can’t deal with me,” Ekwunife told Ebele Obiano.
Ebele Obiano, puzzled, responded, “My husband drinks champagne, not alcohol,” offering comic relief that made everyone laugh.
The First Lady, accompanied by other women, intervened just as things were about to get physical. They chastised Wille’s wife for her lack of morals and decency. “I heard you no longer speak to Margaret Obi, who was supposed to teach you how to be a First Lady.”
“Your actions tonight have validated all that has been claimed about you and your husband.
“If this is how you behave, please never join me on another trip, both inside and outside the country,” the irritated Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan stated.
