Unlike last year’s edition, the cheapest available slot for brands to advertise on Big Brother Naija – Season 6 is N200 million naira.

The condition for becoming the headline sponsors, on the other hand, comes at a much higher cost.

Surprisingly, the sole sponsors of this year’s edition are businesses run by Nigerians under the age of 30.

Here, we highlight two young Nigerians who wrote the massive check that qualified them as the main sponsors of Big Brother Naija Season 6 – the “Shine ya Eye” edition.

Dare Adekoya

Sponsor Big Brother Naija

Dare Adekoya is the co-founder and CEO of Abeg Technologies, a 2019 technology company.

Abeg Technologies is the creator of the fintech app, Abeg.

Abeg is a mobile payment app designed to make transactions and payments easier and faster on one’s phone at a lower cost.

Dare Adekoya has worked as a product designer for a number of well-known companies. He contributed to the design of Sterling Bank PLC’s Gomoney Banking app. He has also led several UI/UX solutions and worked on interfaces and experiences for companies such as Stanbic IBTC, Brük Oil Mill, OneOS, Linda Ikeji Tv, and others.

Adekoya is currently focused on designing usable experiences and interfaces for digital products and websites, according to him.

The ongoing Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) show – the “Shine ya Eye” edition – is sponsored by “Abeg.”

Dare Adekoya’s Abeg is reported to have paid N2 billion ($3.5 million) to be a co-exclusive sponsor of the TV reality show.

Hanu Fejiro Agbodje

Sponsor Big Brother Naija

Hanu Fejiro Agbodje founded Patricia Technologies Limited, a technology firm known for e-commerce, cryptocurrency, and gift card exchange.

Patricia was founded in 2017 and has since handled transactions worth more than N10 billion (as at 2019).

Agbodje claims that he was duped out of an iTunes gift card while in school. Patricia was born as a result of this bereavement. It was a company that would buy and sell cryptocurrency, gift cards, and online payment solutions.
