Benin City came alive over the past week as family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to honour the life of Chief Solomon Oseghale Enabor, the Eribo of Ewu.

Guests travelled from across Nigeria and abroad, turning the funeral into a colourful celebration of a man remembered for kindness, discipline, and responsibility.

Chief Enabor passed away on 19 August 2025 at the age of 82. He was survived by his wife, brothers, sisters, ten children, and fifteen grandchildren.

The ceremonies began on Monday, 24 November 2025, with a Service of Songs at RCCG, Off Erediauwa, Uteh. Memories and tributes highlighted his warmth and leadership.

On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, his body was taken to Idunwele, Ewu, for lying-in-state, followed by interment later that afternoon. Family rites were held the next day in an atmosphere of reflection and tradition.

A lively social dance took place on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at Covenant Christian Academy, Uteh. Music, cultural displays, and heartfelt conversations celebrated the fullness of his life.

His daughter, Mrs. Jane Gbajumo, described him as “a man who loved deeply, led with a clean heart, and raised us with the discipline that shaped our lives.” Her words drew nods and emotion from the audience.

His son-in-law, Mr. Uyi John Gbajumo, praised him as “an example of humility and wisdom,” noting that Chief Enabor treated him like a son and guided him with quiet strength.

The final thanksgiving service held today at RCCG, Off Oba Erediauwa, brought the ceremonies to a close. It marked the end of a week that honoured not just a man, but a lasting legacy of integrity, service, and love.
