Late Madam Beatrice Evbota Laid To Rest In Grand Event (See PHOTOS)

The remains of late Mrs. Beatrice Edebharia Evbota has been laid to rest on Friday in Lagos, Nigeria. The event was a festival of tears and eulogies.

The 79 year-old Mrs. Evbota died on Saturday, 24 August, 2024.

The funeral ceremony attracted dozens of sympathizers from different walks of life, who attested to the charity and impressive virtues of Mrs. Evbota.

The late Mrs. Evbota was buried on Friday at Vaults and Gardens, Lekki, Lagos.

The interment was preceded by a Funeral Service that held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba, Lagos.

A service of songs was held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church., Herbert Macaulay at 5pm on Thursday, 19 September 2023.

Reception followed at Nekom Event Centre, Yaba.

Mrs Evbota was survived by children and grandchildren.

About the Late Mrs Beatrice Evbota

Mrs Beatrice Edebharia Dada Evbota was born on July 27, 1945, in Lagos, Nigeria. She was born to the family of Pa Edward Okosun Uwadiale and Mrs Cecilia Ejimiagbon Edward-Uwadiale, and she was their first child.

Mrs Evbota attended Yaba Model Primary School, Surulere, and later Marywood College, Apapa Road, Ebute Metta, Lagos.

Upon completing her secondary school education, she began her professional career at a young age.

In January 1964, she gained employment with Barclays Bank DCO (Dominion Colonial and Overseas) at the bank’s head office at 40 Marina, Lagos. Her career at Barclays marked the beginning of a remarkable journey in the banking sector.

Mrs. Evbota’s banking career spanned over 30 years during wish she steadily rose through the ranks. She retired in March 1995 as an Assistant Manager, having served in middle management at NAL Merchant Bank.

In 26 September 1971, Mrs Evbota married the love of her life, Mr Emmanuel Enaifoghe Evbota (of blessed memory).

Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with five children, Peter Ehikioya, Samuel Ehimiaghe, Lucy Adetunji (of blessed memory), Edward Oikena (of blessed memory), and Josephine Ofure. She is survived by many grandchildren.

Mrs Evbota was a devout Catholic.  Her unwavering faith and dedication to the church earned her numerous recognition including the prestigious Papal Award which was conferred on her by his Holiness Benedict XVI.

The award honoured her exceptional dedication and support to the Catholic Church, particularly her full financial sponsorship of catholic priests throughout their studies and ordination of priesthood.
