Prices Of Happiness In Every Country Revealed, See How Much It Takes To Be Happy In Nigeria
“Money can’t buy you happiness”, some may say.
However, if you disagree, how much money would you need to make you to be happy?
Surely, a few more Dollars would undoubtedly make life a little bit easier and allow us all to live a little bit happier.
Well, researchers at Purdue University have gone out to find out how much annual income citizens of different countries need to for them to be happy. In the final report, 173 countries, across different regions, were captured.

According to the research, Iran has the highest cost of happiness in the world. It tops the list with its people needing a salary of nearly $239,700US (£200,000) to be satisfied, the survey revealed.
Yemen is ranked second ($172,140/£137,817), followed by Australia, whose citizens need a princely sum of $121,191 (£97,026) to be happy.
Sierra Leone came in last on the list, on the other extreme of the scale. Only $8,658 (£6,931) a year is required for the citizen of the West African country to be content. In other words, Sierra Leone is the country where happiness is cheapest.
Just behind Sierra Leone is Suriname where a yearly income of $10,255 (£8,210) will keep misery at bay most efficiently followed by Madagascar ($11,355/£9,090).
The rest of the top ten country list includes Zimbabwe ($118,342/£94,745); Norway ($117,724/£94,251); Switzerland ($115,745/£92,666); New Zealand ($114,597/£91,747); Israel ($112,506/£90,073); Iceland ($111,908/£89,594) and the United States, with its people needing $105,000 (£84,064) to stay happy.
In Nigeria, where its people are struggling with stress as a result of rising prices for things like food, rent, transportation, electricity, school fees, etc., happiness can be afford with $14, 956.
At the current rate of its local currency, the Naira, that amount translates to about N11,747,938.
Nigeria is the most populous African country with an estimated population of over 200 million people.
