Pat Nebo, Veteran Nollywood Production Designer, Passes Away
Pat Nebo, a renowned production designer and art director from Nigeria, has passed away.
The announcement was made on Thursday in a post on the X account of Shaibu Husseini, a film critic and member of the African Movie Academy Awards jury.
Husseini said, “I have been reliably informed that foremost Nigerian Production Designer Pat Nebo has passed on. He has been bedridden for a while now. Journey well Master of the Craft of film production design.”

Nebo began working as a production designer in 1993 with the home movie Ti Oluwa Ni Ile. He contributed to both of Ti oluwa ni ile’s sequels in the same year.
He made his debut in the movies in 2009’s The Figurine, playing the role of the “Marriage Registrar.” He did, however, continue to work as a production designer on a number of movies, including Araromire, Arugba, Alero’s Symphony, and Being Mrs. Elliot.
In addition to production designing, he served as the art director for the movies 76, Half of a Yellow Sun, The Figurine, and Phone Swap.
