Femi Fani-Kayode: Meet The 5 Women That He Married

Femi Fani-Kayode is a colorful and controversial  personality who means different things to different individuals.

He is a politician, author, poet, lawyer, virulent critic, and commentator on social issues.

From July 2008 to June 2006, he served as President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Special Assistant (Public Affairs). From 22 June to 7 November 2006, he served as the Honourable Minister of Culture and Tourism. Finally, he served as Minister of Aviation from 7 November 2006 to 29 May 2007.

For years, the charismatic Fani-Kayode, a former chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has never been afraid to express his views in the media or on social media.

Fani-Kayode, a father of eight children, has married several women at various times.

Here, we highlight the women that he had been involved in matrimony with.

 

Saratu Attah (1987 -1990)

Saratu Attah is the first wife of Femi Fani-Kayode. She is the daughter of Adamu Attah, Kwara State’s first civilian governor.

They married when he was 22 years old. The marriage lasted from 1987 to 1990. They have one daughter whose name is Oluwafolake.

In January 2017, Ghana President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo, appointed Saratu Atta as a personal assistant. She has served as an executive aide to Mr. Akufo-Addo since 2009.

Atta, a product of St Saviour’s School, Ikoyi, Lagos, is a graduate of the University of Warwick, UK, with a bachelor of arts degree in politics and international studies.

 

 

Yemisi Olasunbo Adeniji (1991-1995)

Next was his marriage in 1991 to Yemisi Olasunbo Adeniji. She and Femi Fani-Kayode married immediately she concluded her Law School.

The marriage collapsed 1995, with Yemisi (now Yemisi Wada) already pregnant with the couple’s third child.

They have three daughters whose names are Oluwatemitope, Oluwatobiloba and Oluwatuminu.

 

 

Regina Amonoo (1997- Date)

In 1997, Fani-Kayode married his third wife, a Ghanaian, Regina Amonoo. This happened when he was in Ghana, during the Abacha years.

They got married under traditional law and custom in Accra, Ghana in 1997 and got married under the Marriage Act at the Apapa Registry office in Lagos, Nigeria in 2002.

They have one daughter, whose name is Oluwaremilekun.

In a statement in various news outlets in 2021, Regina made it clear that she has remained the legal wife of Femi Fani-Kayode and that they have never been divorced since they got married in 1997. Regina Amonoo is a business woman, pastor and interior designer.

 

 

Precious Chikwendu (2014-2020)

Femi Fani-Kayode married Precious Chikwendu in 2014. Precious Chikwendu, a beauty queen and the winner of the Miss United Nations (world) beauty pageant 2014, got married, thus became his fourth marriage.

Fani-Kayode and Precious welcomed their first child on February 1, 2016. He was christened Joshua Oluwafemi Emmanuel Lotanna Aragorn Fani-Kayode. He is Fani-Kayode’s first son.

On 25 May 2018 Precious Chikwendu Fani-Kayode gave birth to three boys. Their names are: (a.) Ragnar Alexander Okunade Olusegun Ikenna Fani-Kayode (b.) Aiden Daniel Olumide Jidenna Benaniah Fani-Kayode (c.) Liam Michael Oluwanifemi Tobenna Jehu Fani-Kayode. The triplets were born on their mother’s birthday.

The relationship was allegedly abusive, with allegations of infidelity and physical abuse. Divorce proceedings are still ongoing.

 

 

Ezenwa Nerita (2021 -?)

Ezenwa Chika Nerita, an ex-beauty queen, is currently involved in a highly publicized romance with the former Minister of Aviation.

Femi and Nerita may have made their romance official after the politician uploaded photographs of Nerita carrying a bouquet in an off-the-shoulder bridal gown.

They have been spotted together at several events. For example, they paid a courtesy call on Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Oni of Ife. It was also gathered that he has met with Nerita’s mother and siblings and they are regular visitors at his Abuja mansion. During his birthday party, her family was present.

Nerita, a career model, has competed in a few pageant contests, winning Most Beautiful Girl in Abuja Face of Dolce for the year 2016/17 and was elected Queen of Aso International 2019/2020.
