Rachel Oniga, a veteran Nollywood actress, has died. She was 64 years old.
At the time of publication, the cause of Oniga’s death was unknown.
Oniga has appeared in over a hundred films.
Her parents were from Eku, Delta State in Southern Nigeria, and she was born on May 23, 1957, in Ebutte Metta, Lagos State.
Her acting career began shortly after her divorce in 1993.
Before her first film, Onome, and her first Yoruba film, Owo Blow, she briefly worked at Ascoline Nigeria Limited, a Dutch Consultant Company.
Oniga has appeared in notable Nigerian films such as Sango, a film scripted by Wale Ogunyemi and produced and directed by Obafemi Lasode, as well as Wale Adenuga’s Super Story television series.
