Engr. Ezekiel Ubanatu Laid To Rest Amidst Eulogies

Sympathizers, family members, friends, and associates made their presence available to bid farewell to the late Engr. Ezekiel Ubanatu, who died on November 27, 2021. Ubanatu, who died at the age of 74, was laid to rest in his country home, in Amai-Umuekum, Ndokwa West, Delta State.

In his sermon during the funeral service, the officiating pastor, Apostle Paul Toritseju, urged the bereaved family to find comfort in God in the wake of Ubanatu’s death. The clergy urged family members to uphold the deceased’s legacy, saying the incident served as a lesson for people to draw closer to God. The burial ceremony was attended by friends, family, and relatives from within and outside the country.

According to Mr. Joseph Ucho, an international safety consultant and a son-in-law to the deceased, Engr. Ezekiel Ubanatu would be greatly missed for his passion for the unity of his family. According to Mr. Ucho, “I am honoured to have had the privilege to have been able to call the late Engr. Ezekiel Ubanatu “father-in-law.”

“Apart from having the privilege of marrying one of his daughters, I had a special bond with him as he considers me his son, and not just an in-law. “By this, he accorded me all the respects and privileges on any issue pertaining to his family”, Ucho emphasized.

The officiating Minister

Ezekiel Ubanatu was born on August 2nd, 1947, in Amai-Umuekum. He was his mother’s last child, but after the death of his parents, his late brother raised him. He joined MCC Calabar in 1964 where he became the head of the heavy-duty equipment unit.

He established U-Zek Engineering in Efurun, Delta State, after years of work in the mechanical business. He specialized in plant generators, payloaders, dredging machines, and other heavy-duty equipment repairs and supplies there. Ezekiel Ubanatu is survived by wives, Josephine Ubanatu and Anna Ubanatu.
