Ezi Community Hails Dr. Ifeanyi Onyekwe for Unprecedented Road Construction Project

The people of Ezi community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State celebrated a significant milestone. It was the commissioning of a newly constructed road in the town. The project was funded by Dr. Ifeanyi Onyekwe, a renowned US-based medical practitioner and illustrious son of the town.

The event, which took place in Ezi Kingdom, attracted a host of dignitaries and local leaders, who praised Dr. Onyekwe for his philanthropic efforts in providing vital infrastructure to his hometown. The commissioning ceremony was presided over by HRM Obi Mohanyem, the Obi of Ezi Kingdom, in the company of Prof. (Engr.) Ogwugwuam Ezeagwu, the Onu-Obi of Ezi Kingdom. The project, which is unprecedented in the community, is seen as a turning point for the entire Ezi Kingdom, setting a new standard for local development. In a gesture that highlighted the event’s significance, the community nicknamed their area “Ahaba London,” a testament to their pride in the transformation taking place.

Friends, well-wishers, and community members came together to witness this remarkable occasion, celebrating the generosity of Dr. Onyekwe. Among the attendees were key figures such as the Director-General, Delta State Multi-Door Courthouse, Barr. Nnamdi Onyekwe; the resident priest of St. Andrews Catholic Church, Rev. Father Simon-Stanley Owuzo; Secretary to the Royal Palace, Mr Francis Onyekwe, and notable Ikpala title holders of Ezi Kingdom.

Dr. Onyekwe’s gesture is a source of inspiration, encouraging further philanthropic involvement from other indigenes of the community.
