All Set For The Burial Of Ezinne Martina Onyekwe

The Onyekwe family of Ogbe-Obi-Ezi community, Aniocha LGA of Delta State has announced the burial plans for their mother, Ezinne (Mrs) Martina Azuamaka Onyekwe, who died at the age of 81.

Ezinne Martina Onyekwe who passed on September 21 will be laid to rest on Friday, 1 December 2023.

According to a notice made available to us by her son, Mr. Nnamdi Onyekwe, Esq., a Vigil Mass/Wake will be held on November 30th at the Onyekwe family compound in Ahaba Quarters, in the Ogbe-Obi-Ezi community.

The funeral mass will be held the following day at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Ezi.  This will be followed by the Interment at the Dumme Family Compound, Ogbe-Aku Quarters, Ezi.

The reception follows at St Andrew’s Primary School, Ogbe-Obi Village, Ezi.

The event is expected  to be a gathering of family, friends, top dignitaries and eminent personalities from far and wide coming to celebrate the life and times of Ezinne Martina Onyekwe.

Until her death, the late Mrs. Onyekwe dedicated herself to St. Vincent Family Services, also known as Operation Breakthrough, in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, from 1997 until her retirement in 2008.

She is survived by her nine chidren; and they include; Dr. Ebele Umoye, a Professor of Nursing; Mrs. Joy Nneka Eke, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; and Barrister Nnamdi Onyekwe, the Director-General of the Delta State Multidoor Courthouse.

Others include Barrister Margaret Unodinma Onyekwe (Meg), Barrister-at-Law (Nigeria) & Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing (USA); Dr. Martina Tudeme, a Dentist and Implant Surgeon; Mrs. Nkechi Omozeje, a Chartered Accountant, Cybersecurity Auditor, and Business Professional; Dr. Ifeanyi Onyekwe, Dentist & Medical Doctor; Mr. Oge Onyekwe, Engineer and Cybersecurity expert and Mrs. Ogochukwu Benye, Computer Information Systems Analyst and Nurse Care Manager.

She is also survived by a sibling, Mr. Leonard Dumme; 28 Grandchildren, Sons, and Daughters-in-law; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Martina Onyekwe, who was a major pillar and source of inspiration to her children, died on September 21, 2023 at the age of 81.
