Legendary Singer And Guitarist, Sir Victor Uwaifo Is Dead.

Sir Victor Uwaifo, the musical legend, has died.

According to the source, he died on Saturday after a brief illness.

In March, the ‘Guitar boy,’ as he was affectionately known, turned 80.

Uwaifo is also the first professional musician to be named a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).

He was also Nigeria’s first Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Tourism.

He is also the recipient of Africa’s first gold disc (Joromi), which was released in 1965, as well as seven other gold discs in the Guitar Boy, Arabade, Ekassa series, and Akwete music.

Victor Uwaifo and His Titibitis is his stage name.

He is recognized as the most educated performing music legend, musical instrument inventor, artist, worldwide with a B.A Honors (first class valedictorian), Masters degree and Ph.D in Architectural Sculpture, (University of Benin, Nigeria)
